Ancestor Talisman Workshop with Artist Amy Sun

Join us for a unique talisman workshop and ritual with Amy from Memento Mori Designs! 

Amy is excited to share her love of wax letter-seals and her process for creating fine (.999) silver talismans inspired by their designs. In this workshop she will invite each participant to begin by selecting the silver talisman that calls to them. Next, she will facilitate a reflective and curious space for folks who are eager to discover and strengthen their connection to their ancestors.  Ancestor work in this session will include an overview of the basics of ancestor veneration, a guided candlelight-meditation, journaling and reflection, discussion (voluntary of course), and ritual letter-writing.

We will close our session with evening tea and a ceremonial letter-sealing, and by imbuing our fine silver talismans with blessings and intention to be open to the wisdom of our ancestral guides.  Our ancestors are the past that brought us forth, but you are today’s key to that knowledge. Wear your talisman as a daily reminder to celebrate life regardless of the inevitability of death.

Amy is a Connecticut-based artisan from Clinton, creating one-of-a-kind pendants and talismans entirely by hand in fine .999 silver. Her work is inspired by the character, history, and symbolism found in both antique and modern wax letter seals. She is especially drawn to the unique impressions they create, transforming each seal into an individual piece of wearable art that captures the exact moment it was made.
